Greed, Anger, Foolishness

As humans we have so many deficiencies; the main ones: greed, anger, and foolishness. Thinking of only ourselves, we desire power and absolute control over others, planting the seeds of greed wherever we travel; greed, with its lack of satisfaction, disturbs our inner tranquility, resulting in anger, which leads us to do foolish things; foolishness rocks our world.

As the venerable Master Hsuan Hua once said:

A greedy mind is like a bottomless pit.
Because it is hard to fill, anger arises.
A profusion of the five desires
deludes our mind,
And the Dharma vessel disintegrates
before we realize it.
